Oko's Band

I only had a couple of very nice singles by Oko's Band, so I was very happy to get hold of this record. According to the sleeve-notes Oko's a real old-timer, and this must be one of the first Ambassador releases. The first track already popped-up in another blog, so i give you the second track: a 'Bushey' with more than a hint of 'El Manisero' in it.

great recording, i know more about the horn band highlife of the 50's and 60's, but i loved this one - thanks!! hopefully more more music of this nature 9and less of the funk material so currently popular with the reissue projects) will get reissued in the future

I agree,
It's a shame that so much incredible music is overlooked and will probably never be reissued. But it is just not commercially interesting, so it depends on the musical taste of the reissuer. And they seem to like 'funk'
